Brother Borzou B-Day @ Capitol Skyline Rool Party for , Rooftop Party @ Donovan House & 2009 White Attire Affair

I started the day off EEEAAARRRLLLYYYYY by no choice of my own. You see, here’s the thing… I went to the bed & breakfast spa, I’ve been bragging about and doing for the past 3 weeks, on Friday night. I called the car service to pick me up @ 7:00 AM from my residence to take me the spa, which they did. The plan was to stay overnight and return home at about 11:00 AM. We’ll…that didn’t go as planned. I get a call at 6:45 AM from the spa staff telling me that my car service was out front. I just knew they called the wrong room. They actually were not. It seems that the car service, which I won’t mention because a friend owns it, made a huge mistake. They had my pick up from home and my pick from the spa both for 7:00. Don’t ask because I don’t understand either. Anyway, I get home about 7:30, take a DISCO NAP and wake up to start me day around 12 noon.

Sista Nikki & Brotha Borzou

The first dilemma…what to wear to my first party? My botha Borzou turned 30 and was having the most OVAH pool party celebration @ the Capotal Skyline Hotel. I knew that I wasn’t getting in the pool and I also knew that I was doing several other events that day and didn’t want to go home to change after the party. So I needed to dress for several occasions. I opted for the Martha’s Vineyard/Hamptons look.

Me parlaying next to the pool

After chatting with my boi and Prince of DC, Raymond Lee,

Prince of DC, Raymond Lee

we planned to meet at the Capitol Skyline Pool Party @ 2:30 PM. I walked in to mischief and mayhem and I knew I was gonna have a ball. Borzou and crew greeted me upon entry and I knew I was home. Fabulous libations, delicious food, ovah beats and DC’s MOST BEATIFUL half naked Persian people were the recipe for disaster.

The sista Nikki & I poolside enjoying libations

Borzou: Yo brother, you have a lot of clothes on for a pool party.
Me: I know, I have a few other events to make it to after this and don’t want to go home to change after.

I was SUPPOSE to be at the Donovan House rooftop party at 3:30 PM. O.K, so here’s the thing…cocktails and the sun are not a good combination. Before I knew it, I was out of my clothes walking runway poolside and shaking my ass like I was at the last party of my life. The party was everything and more…like only the Persians can do. The boo boo came to meet me at the party and I knew I wasn’t going ANYWHERE. At about 5:30 the party was finally wrapping up. Now, I can finally make it to my next destination…LOL.

My @ Donovan House Rooftop Party

The boo boo, Raymond and I fleeced to the Donovan House's Rooftop Party and had the most ovah time. This is the thing…the party was winding down and we still enjoyed ourselves immensely. Raymond and I caught up, we all enjoyed the most over libations then it was time to fleece yet again. The next event; Al Sura’s Tenth Annual White Attire Affair (WAA). But first I needed to hit it home for a quick change.

Marcus & I @ The White Attire Affair-2009

So I arrived at Al Sura's 10th Annual White Attire Affair at 9:30 PM, completely missing the VIP reception…Damn!!! I walk to the registration table and was asked by Al Sura’s Diva, “Where have to been, you missed the VIP reception?” “I know”, I said, “I had a few other events to make it to” [welcome to my life].The party was EVERTHING. The WAA is back in full swing. I saw so many of my friends whom I haven’t seen in a while and they all looked FIERCE. The beats and libations (which is 90% of a party) were on point. Then the downfall of the night happened…The Fashion Show. If you were privy to my point of view, which was front row of the main viewing area, then I am sure you would agree; a fucking disaster! The Models: Gorgeous! The Fashions: FABULOUS! The Production/execution: Some of the worse I’ve seen! This say’s a lot because I’m invited to fashion shows that range for middle school to DC/NY/LA Fashion Weeks. I do at least 6-10 fashion shows a month. This production was some of the most mediocre shit I’ve ever seen. I have one question: Who’s responsible? Whoever they are, they never need to produce another fashion show AGAIN. Better yet get out of fashion all together. When I went up to a staff/coordinator and told him the show as moving way to fast, his excuse: We are pressed for time and need to be out here. Excuse the fuck outta me but who told you asses to wait until the last minute to do a show at a party that ends at 1:00 AM? Note: Designers do fashion show to SHOWCASE their work & press/buyers comes to SEE their work. When one of the 2 doesn’t happen, the show is a complete waste of time. [My apologies for going off on a tangent…I just HATE poorly produced fashion shows]. Anyway, the remainder of the party was FABULOUS. I knew I was having a great time when I lost my phone, made an announcement over the microphone for someone to return it if found and never gave it a second thought. After a fabulous on-the-spot interview with the Listen Up Live Radio Show & too many libations I needed an after party.

The hosts and my girls Jay & Simply Nay from the Listen Up Radio Show & I @ The WAA-2009

My boi of 10+ years Terry, who subsequently lended his penthouse to the WAA fashion show for their management hub was having a phenomenal after party that I couldn’t see not attending. I invited some friends down and once the fashion show’s clothing/staff were out of there we commenced to parting like rock stars for the reminder of the night/morning while over looking the the Washington National Stadium.

Upon exit from the party my boo boo called my phone to find that they had it at the front desk…How OVAH, right? With that, I picked up the phone and fleeced home. A fab day was had at all events. See you out in DC’s nightlife.

Captial B reLaunch @ Marvin, HipHop happy Hour @ Lounge of 3, Rooftop Party @ Donovan House, I Love RocknRoll @ Tattoo, Reflection Weds @ Shadow Room

OMG….. Last night was OOOOOOOOVVVVVVVAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

I had a full social calendar to boot.
I started out with dinner at one of my favorite all time restaurants, Utopia on U Street. They have some of the best seasoned and cooked lamb (my favorite meat) in DC. After din din and libations it was time to hit the Capital B Relaunch Party at Marvin.
Shoes By Kymyla shoe diva, Kimberlee Roberts

My boi Sheldon, manager of Marvin

I pulled in to a PACKED event. My folks, The DUNES LLC, produced this event. Ora, you did a phenomenal job, once again. All of my peeps were in the house. The energy was AMAZING. Sometimes, I have to sit back and wonder how I am so blessed to have the life that I live…really. Oh… and how hot is this… one of my favorite womans wear designers, Aidah, pieces were sprinkled on customers throughout the event.

These fashion fabulous divas were representing the Aidah Collection to the FULLEST. FAB right? After hob nobbing with some of DC’s MOST FABULOUS individuals, libations and some of the best cupcakes in DC from Yours Truly, Cupcakes, it was time to fleece to the next destination.
My gals & 3 of DC's MOST FABULOUS Vixens

My girl and owner of Your Truly Cupcake, Tiffany Rose Goodyear

I hit it down the street to the Lounge of 3’s HipHop Happy Hour. A complete waste of time. The music was way too loud & the downstairs bar it way to small. I felt like someone should have handed me a blunt when I arrived. I walked in, made my way half way to the bar and COULDN’T SEE staying to have a drink. I fleeced! [I found out later that night that I should have at least went up stairs to th second level...go figure]

The view from the TOP - Donovan House

I had to get that feel out of my head so to the Rooftop Party and the Donovan House Hotel I shall go… I arrived and had guest list issues with the door girl/host. I know right..me…LOL. After her searching for RSVP in several different ways I found out I was NOT ON THE LIST. Thankfully, one of the hotel’s managers came to my rescue.

Him: “What’s the problem, what is he not on the list?”
Her: “I don’t see his name.”
Him: “ Darling…no no no…He’s alright. We apologize sir, please follow me”
Her: “OMG sir, I am so sorry”
Me: “I understand, you’re just doing your job. Hopefully we won’t have this issue again.”
With that, the manager escorted me to the rooftop and to the bar. The roof top party was crazy. I met up with my DIVA Miss Niomi and my boi Jeff. We drank, laughed, and enjoyed life for about 2 hours. If you haven’t been, you MUST check out the party at Donovan House. The scene, music & atmosphere are some of the best in the city, hands down. After a few more cocktails and that annoying door girl coming up to me apologizing SEVERALS time that eve (the first time was all that was needed. I understand she wanted to apologize but good lord, it became annoying) I needed to hit it to the next local.

My Diva Naomi

The Capital B – I LOVE ROCK & ROLL After Party @ Tattoo. A bust for me. Must have gotten there way too early! I’m not sure but what the hell is going on on K Street nowadays. Once a place where the party was always hot at any time of the evening, K Street seems to be losing its grander….or maybe it was the venue or maybe I was just way too early (11:30 PM). While I love the venue, music, crowd and atmosphere of Tattoo I didn’t see any of my folks I was there to see so after a social round or two I couldn’t see staying there either… Shadow Room, here I come.

Now, at the Shadow Room, the party was on… I arrived to another OOOOVVVVAAAAHHH event. ICAND Productions has done it AGAIN.

The People: Gorgeous. The Bar: Open. The Beats: Intoxicating. The Party: Bananas!!!! I had one of the best nights of the month at Shadow Room last night, and that says a lot. First of all, when I went to the bar for champagne and pull my credit cards out, the bartender tells me that “it’s open bar until 12 am.” I said “when did you guys start that?” He says, “It’s always been going on, you just never show up until about 12:30 -1.” NOTE TO SELF: Get to the Shadow Room before 12 if ever I am low on coins…OPEN BAR.. I’m Lovin it...LOL!

DeeJay India serves the ones & twos...OVAH!!!

DeeJay India made me lose my mind. I got so much life from her last night. I thought she was gonna put me in cardiac arrest. I LIVED!!!

My gansta stance with my boi Allen..LOL

After way too many glasses of champagne, again, it was time for the after party. Very cute, chill and sexy. I got in around 6:30ish…I think. Oh what I night. See you out in DC’s nightlife.

Fighting in the Club... How Dreadful

Fighting in the club... How Dreadful...

Recorded a few weeks ago, I felt the need to post this episode as my premier episode. After numerous text messages, emails & phone calls about the recent surge of violence in the alternative urban nightlife arena (Sugafree Sundays @ Eyebar & Flow Tuesdays @ Midtown), I feel I must address this issue. This episode is dedicated to the fighters and is to serve as a lesson of decorum on how to conduct one's self when out partying in DC's mature nightlife. Promoters like K&C Productions and K5 Entertainment have worked hard to, and are, continuously upgrading DC's alternative urban nightlife experience with their posh & chic parties catering to the grown & sexy men & women of the Nation's Capital. Gone are the days of Edge/Wet; if you can't change with the times; keep your ass at home; or at least go to the others venues where that behavior is expected...shall I say a D.W. event. By fighting you lessen the experience for everyone out partying. I'm sure most, or all, of you can agree, there's nothing more frustrating & annoying than when you're out trying to enjoy yourself and a fight breaks out in the club causing a ripple effect of the lighting going on, music being stopped and bar service halted which in turn, blows your night. GROW UP PEOPLE. Fighting is soo UN FABULOUS. If it can be avoided...AVOID IT!!!

This is not a gospel, simply the world according to me. I am no angle in DC's nightlife (both alternative & mainstream); there have been times where I've had one too many and gotten loud, argumentative with staff, rude to other patrons who annoy the hell outta me and I rock out while standing on the tables and chairs. However, 90% of the time these things are done it's in a private VIP area and RARELY affects the majority of the party/venue. I try to be very cognizant that I'm not infringing on anyone else’s great time. Everyone should be so considerate.
See you out in DC's nightlife.

W Hotel for Lunch & Libations, Early Evening Cocktail Party & Dinner @ the new Eatonville Restaurant

After attending the Grand Opening of the W Hotel in D.C., I couldn’t see not going back for lunch and libations after the place had a few hundred less people. I had no idea I’d be back less than 24 hours after the grand opening though…LOL. The boo boo and I arrived at the W Hotel and was again greeted by their phenomenal staff. After a brief wait (apparently a lot of folks stopped in to be given a tour of the rooftop), we were escorted to the POV (Point of View) Rooftop Terrance for our lunch date. I have to say, the point of view from where we sat was EVERYTHING. We could literally throw a rock and hit the White House.

The White House

My server, from the previous evening’s grand opening, came up to me and couldn’t believe I was back already. She must not know how I do I thought. I do nothing in moderation; go hard or go home. Anyway, the food was FABULOUS. I had the marinated chick sandwich, the boo boo had the beef sati. I would urge everyone to pass on the strawberry lemonade cocktail. It’s pre-made, has next to no alcoholic content and taste nothing like lemonade. The mojitos were to die for. Also pre-made but trust me, they have a kick that will get ya. The boo boo had to fleece do to prior engagements and I sat and continued to wreak havoc on the bar. After several more mojitos, it was time for the early afternoon cocktail party.

I fleeced to the private residence in Dupont Circle and had another phenomenal time. After taking in the great views & décor, conversation and interaction with an electric, sexy and fabulous crowd and more libations, the host and a few of us decided to hit it to what has become our normal after party outing…dinner. This time we wanted to try something new. Eatonville was suggested and while I shot the commercial there previously this week, I hadn’t eaten there. Eatonville was the place that would host our after party dinner.

I said they had Southen porch built inside the restaurant...OVAH

We arrived to a PACKED house. I was slightly gagging at how well the new restaurant was doing. I heard the host tell a few folks in front of us that the wait was 30-45 minutes and I couldn’t see waiting for that long. Luckily, when I got to the front, the host, who also took care of my wants doing the commercial shoot, recognized me immediately. “Welcome back” she said with one of the most inviting smile I’ve seen from a host in some time. “How many are with you?” she asked. I told her 5 but that I couldn’t see waiting for 30-45 minutes. She said YOU wouldn’t have to. She disappeared for 2 minutes, came back and escorted us to one the prime tables in the restaurant. “Thanks so much for coming back, we are glad to have you, let me know if you need anything else and enjoy your dinner” we’re all things that came out of her mouth as she escorted us to our table. Once seated, the manager came up and greated us and again, told us if we needed anything to just ask for him. I thought, WOW, this customer service is everything. I had no idea that the food would be even better. Owed by the same owner of Busboys and Poets right across the street, Andy Shallal, whom I had to pleasure of meeting while taping, went for more of a cultural, literary historic feel offering Southern style comfort food. Eatonville has a completely different feel from the more left-wing, progressive feel of its 3 Busboys & Poets sister restaurants located throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Look out for my review in the next issue of DC’s MOST FABULOUS Magazine. After dinner and cocktails, I glanced at my watch and it was about 11:30 PM. I couldn’t believe it, where did the time go? The crew considered going out for a round of cocktails but we all decided to call it a night. I fleeced home but somehow didn’t get to sleep until 3:00 am. WTF?
This weekend, I'm heading back to that ultra fabulous bed & breakfast spa that I fleeced to last weekend. This has been a trying week but I must say I did have fun. I’m checking in to the spa this evening and checking out on Monday morning. Again, I’m taking a break from the cell phones, Blackberry/PDA’s and laptop; they are all band from this relaxing oasis. See you out in DC’s nightlife.

Ask for the Test Photo Shoot, Grand Opening of W Hotel-DC, Reflection Wednesdays @ Shadow Room

O.K., so did you all see my brister (Bro/Sister) Quincy slam his sneaker in to that poor girl’s head last night (by accident) when he kick them off? The spirit found him I guess…lol Why did I wake up laughing my ass off with that thought in my mind from last night? More on that later.

Yesterday was go, go, go. I completed the photo shoot for the Ask for the Test Campaign yesterday afternoon. What should have taken 20 minutes took more like 45. I found out it’s really hard to maintain a smile when you really not laughing. We shot in Adams Morgan and a spa, which really had nothing to do with the concept of the shoot. I didn’t get it but nonetheless, it was fun. You guys should start seeing me on metro busses, metro cards and inside metro stations next week.

DeeJay Neekola rips the ones & twos

So, last night the Dee Jay Saved My Life with a Song. The first stop on my social calendar was at the Grand Opening of the W Hotel on 15th Street, NW. I went to see my girl Dee Jay NEEKOLA rip up the turn tables. I arrived at 10:30 PM, (on purpose) to miss what I’m sure was a packed house of a party that started a 6:00. I didn’t want to be bothered with the crowd. As soon as I came in, I made a b-line over to my girl. After hugs & saying hello to the boyfriend, I fleeced over to the bar. Dam this place is still more packed than I’d like it to be. One plus was that my boi was working at the bar and while he was serving those standing at the bar he was the bartender for the service bar…bet. I grabbed my drink and made rounds.
The W Hotel was FIERCE!!!

With grand entry arches, crystal chandeliers, an ultra modern black, white & grey décor, checked board marble tiled floors & high back chairs, the W Hotel definitely did justice to its brand. After making rounds I was about to fleece. Then it happened; Dee Jay Neekola saved my life with a song. Out of nowhere, my hand went up, my feet started moving and my body started swaying. I was stuck.

Instead of going to meet my boo boo, I sent him a text and asked him to come meet me. I took over the seating area next to the DJ booth and parlayed to the melodic & sexy beats for the next hour. I couldn’t see going back over to the back so I kindly requested a sever, who was the best, to come serve my area. The W gets an A+ for customer service…it was everything! My babes made it and after making introductions with Neekola we sat, drank and caught up. After about 45 minutes we were ready for our next destination. ICanD’s Reflections Wednesdays @ the Shadow Room here we come.

We arrive to a packed party of sexy people. Everyone, who was anyone, was in the house.

My family, who rarely comes out, fell through. Team K-5 Entertainment, came through to represent with MC L-boogie rockin the mic. My mother, Anderson, was in the house with her new boyfriend. The stars were in line last night. The boys of ICanD Entertainment did the dam thing last night.

The HOTBOIS of ICanD Entertainment

After too many glasses of champagne & several Ciroc & cranberrys the music somehow worked me into a frenzy. Then it happened… the gal who I made reference at the beginning got down on her hands and knees and dropped I like it’s hot. She made that jello jiggle like we were in a earthquake. The crowd went crazy. Quincy kicked on shoe one; it went over the crowd. Then shoe two; out of nowhere everyone saw a sneaker come from above hitting the poor baby in the head. Did she stop dancing…hell to the no. If she didn’t grab her head, I would have even thought she noticed…LOL. After about a hour and a half it was time to call it a night. See you out in DC’s nightlife.

Ask for the Test Commercial Shoot, After Shoot After Party-Flow Tuesdays @ Midtown & After-After Party, 7/7/2009

So the commercial shoot went great yesterday. We shot at the new Eatonville Restaurant...Fab spot. My co star/model and friend Duane Gross and I served for blood. After what seems like 100 takes, several voice overs & staging shoots we were finally finished. Mayor Fenty is having a press conference on Thursday to launch the D.C Department of Health's Ask for The Test Campaign. You guys should start seeing the commercial in heavy rotation the later part of next week on all of the major tv networks. The damdest and most unexpected thing happened at the end of the shoot... The creative director walked up and gave Duane and me a check. Does this make me a professional actor now?

After the shoot Duane and I made plans to go out for a celebratory libation and to catch up on each other’s lives. We've known one another for 10+ years but haven't actually sat and had drinks/conversation for at least 3. With that, we headed to ole faithful (The Fireplace). After a drink for him and several for me, my responsible friend Duane had to fleece to the gym for his workout, leaving by my lonesome. What's a guy to do? Why, have more libations of course. Some friends come to meet me to celebrate my shoot and we all planned to hit Flow Tuesdays @ Midtown. After a few more cocktails we hit it.

We walked in to an electric sexy party. Something must have been in the air last night. My group brought no less than 10 bottles including several bottle of Rosè. Ordering 3 bottles at a time we gave new meaning to “poppin bottles in da club”. After getting loose off the goose and more champagne than I care to remember, it was time to hit the dance floor. We shook our asses like there was no tomorrow; literally. After a scuffle or fight near the bathroom it was time for us to fleece. My boi, Lance, was throwing me a killer after party and away we went.

My boi L-Boogie steps back to take a gander on what he created while MC PJ Star rocks the mic

When everyone arrived and I thought....Lance did it again. As always the party had an ultra-chic, chilled and sexy vibe. After MORE Goose and several more bottles of champagne I needed to get some rest for my photo shoot later that afternoon. I hit the sheets around 5am.

A couple of notes about last night:

· To all my hatters: 1) I love you guys. You continually let me know that I am doing something right. 2) I also don't give two shits in hell whether you like me or not. I don't know you and don't want to get to know you. Stay out of my fucking aura. I actually prefer you not like me; I have too many friends as it is. As a matter of fact, I have too many people who think they're my friend..I'm NOT accepting applications. 3) Just because I've grown in the ultra FABULOUS individual I am today, please don't take it for weakness. Yes, I've come a very long way from knocking heads but trust me; I can revert. 4) If you don't like me or my crew stay the hell out of our aura. There should be no reason that every time you're in my face.

· Fighting is so NOT FABULOUS, especially in a grown & sexy entertainment venue. I understand that you have to take it there sometime but if it can be avoided, AVOID IT!!! Leave that shit at the Go Go.

See you guys out in D.C.'s nightlife.

STAY FABULOUS!!!
