Week End Wrap-Up, 10-19-2009, OMEGA's Lust Friday, Dinner Party, Rockstar Party, A DIVA turns 25, & A Usual Sunday

FRIDAY
So Friday was an early start at a private cocktail party in Logan Circle. The party was very festive and had a lot going on. After several drinks, great convo and some of the sexiest people, I had way too much energy to even think about hitting it home. I made plans to meet up with some of the folks from the cocktail party at Halo. With that, I hit it over to Halo for one of those infamous martinis. After a few libations and a mediocre crowd it was time to bounce again. I hit it down to ole’ glory (the Fireplace) in Dupont Circle. The second floor was surprisingly packed. The music was poppin and for some reason the dudes had their ultimate swag on. I met up with my buddy Marcus and after making a few rounds and throwing a few back it was time to make moves again.

I have been telling my boi Mac for that last few weeks that I was going to make it to his Lust Fridays Party @ Mirrors. Well last Friday I finally did. Now Mirrors is not normally my type of venue but I said what the hell…try something new. I arrived at Mirrors about 1:00 AM and was greeted by my boi Donald who was collecting money at the window. First Kudos, these promoters are hands on…GREAT. He waved me in and as soon as the door opened I was hit with an energy that was really hard to explain. The place was PACKED. OMG…I saw nothing but people from the very back to the stage in the very front gyrating all over the venue. I told myself, “oh, hellz yeah…I’m about to get loose.” I fleeced by the coat check, making my way to the bar and then it happened. “Excuse me; you need to check your coat.” Knowing the security guard wasn’t talking to me, I proceeded to the bar. He said it again louder and I saw that he was, in fact, talking to me. Not really paying him any mind, I told him that I wouldn’t be checking my jacket and kept walking. “Sorry dude, you need to check your coat; it’s the club policy.” Now, if you guys remember that coat checking fiasco at Mirrors doing an alternative nightlife party were about 30-40 patrons checked their jackets and had to leave without them because of some mix up then you know they were not laying a hand on mine jacket. I immediately went to Donald, who seemed surprised at the policy as well. He offered to hold on to my jacket until I left. A very easy fix. Second Kudos… customer service was everything. With that I handed him my jacket fleeced by security and over to the bar. A bottle of champagne and a long island iced tea and I was ready to PARTY. I headed over to the stage to find my bois L-Bogie and Joey Bahamas from K-5 Entertainment partying like ROCKSTARS. It wasn’t until I got up on the stage that I saw the magnitude of how many people where actually in the place; I am sure they broke some kind of capacity regulation. The dancers were alright, which is just fine with me. I would much rather see new-faced entertainers than those who’ve been doing the circuit in DC for years. Same dancers, same moves, same tricks, same outfits…just the same ole same ole. It was refreshing to see new fresh faces. After the bottle of champagne and the cocktail I was feeling GREAT. A two-step or two later and I was back at the bar. The bar area was packed and I couldn’t see waiting in the line. Because I purchased bottle service the manager allowed me to come around to the side of the bar to be served by my own bartender….customer service…I LIVE!!! After about 2 large Blue Motorcycles, Marcus and I felt it time we dash. With that, we glanced at one another and without words we grabbed our ish and fleeced toward the front door. We left at about 2:30 am and people we’re still lining up to come in. I had a great time at the party. If I had to rate it on a scale from 1-10. I’d give it a solid 8.5. Nothing that the club or promoters did but it loses that grown and sexy vibe you get with 21 and over crowd. There seemed to have been a few too many under 21 year olds in the house for me. Will I be back? ABSOLUTELY. I had a blast. I love the fact that the DJ played a great variety of music not sticking to that cookie cut-out of the same music sets. Omega Entertainment…KUDOS on a well orchestrated party.

After the Omega party was the After Party. We hit it over my bois after party for more libations and great conversation. The vibe was Ultra Sexy. I GOT MY LIFE.

SATURDAY
So Sat was another long night. I hosted a Taste of Italy Dinner Party for some close friends which turned out PERFECT. A 3-course homemade (yes, I said homemade) Italian dinner, great wine, phenomenal conversation and ultra fabulous people were all the ingreedience I needed to make the dinner party a huge success. After dinner and shaking our asses, we all sat around the fireplace just having great conversations about life. Nisha shut the party down with an impromptu concert with the fireplace as a backdrop…sickening.

After the dinner party, it was time for the ROCKSTAR MOONLIGHT Party. I grabbed my stunas and studded belts and joined the party goers for a great cause. Thanks to lovely ladies and swaggerific fellas that made the night a success. After the ROCKSTAR Party I need to fleece over to Lace for my gal Monique’s 25 Birthday Celebration.

I arrived at Lace at about 1:00 to surprise the birthday girl and surprised she was. She was not expecting me to make it. I did after all leave my Rock star event to come wish her happy bday. Mo’s party was OFF THE HOOK. The VIP Room was something else. Bottle poppin, celebrities, radio personalities, one to the baddest DJ’s in DC and of course yours truly (LOL) made this party a night to remember. As I sat back in VIP and enjoyed the mini concert Monique’s celebrity guest put on, I looked around and couldn’t help getting a little choked up at how proud I was of the DIVA who was surround by those who love her and who has been continuing to do her thing since I first met her years ago. Happy Day DIVA and may you have 25+ successful more. After the Bday celebration, it was time to hit it back to the ROCKSTAR Event. A few more cocktails and it was time to call it a night.

SUNDAY
Sunday was the usual at the residence, wake up to libations, have brunch, more libations, blast music, have friends over, more libations and, if I decide to go out, pull it together and dash. We’ll Sunday, I decided to go out. The first stop at 11:30 PM was the Trap. Not even a full cocktail later and I was ready to bounce. I hit to the Eyebar and knew I was gonna have a blast as soon as I got in. Not sure if I should blame on the alcohol but it seemed like no soon had I arrived, I was walking back out. I must have had a hot ass time…I think..LOL. I hit it to Chinatown to get something greasy to eat up the alcohol I’ve been consuming all day. After my food arrived I fleeced home to hit the sheets. Gosh what a weekend. I think I mention all the parties I hit..I THINK. See you out in DC’s nightlife.

W Hotel, Donovan House/Zenten Sushi Restaurant, Paul Wharton's Bday Bash & Mandingo Tuesdays

After all fully day and evening of recuperating on Monday, I was soo ready to hit the streets on Tuesday. Since I was already in Dupont taking care of some business it made perfect since to start my evening there. The first stop…The trusty ole’ Trap (Fireplace) in Dupont Circle to start the night off right. If you’ve been to the Fireplace then you know what I mean; the drinks there are potent!!! After a, yes I said A (one), cocktail, I was ready to make moves. I’ve been chatting with my gal Nisha all day via text and she finally pulled away for her recording session and said she’d meet me in the city in about an hour. Hmmm…where to go next I asked myself. The plan was to hit the Art of Life party at Halo but after checking and updating my Twitter status saying I was leaving the Trap, I knew exactly where I needed to go. My gal Joi Marie (DC FAB), Editor-in-Chief for The Fab Empire was at the W Hotel spotting J Lo, Marc Anthony,

Photo from DC FAB

Gloria Estefan, Tommy Matola & some other Latin superstars who was in town for the White House's Fiesta Latina Celebration honoring Hispanic Heritage Month. With that, I finished my drink, texted Nisha to meet me at the W Hotel and hit is out the door within a few seconds.
The W Hotel was festive. I fleeced in, picked up a drink from the Living Room (hotel lobby) and hit it up stairs to the P.O.V (Point of View) Rooftop Lounge to a waiting reserved table. I had the table that’s right across from the bar in the back. The one that looks right out to the White House. If you been to the W Hotel’s P.O.V Lounge, then you know which table I’m talking about. Now, that space is divided by 2 huge planters to give the allusion of a separate space. Now, can someone riddle me this? Should I get upset that and feel like my space was invaded because some foreigners damb near move me out of the way to take a photo overlooking the White House? These French folks walked by my table and clearly saw the huge RESERVED sign for the space. It was written in English but come on…I’m sure they understood…lol. They proceed past my area to the adjacent one which had the plastic window down for warmth. It’s seems that because plastic window was open, one of the men thought it was O.K. to push past the dividing planters into my space. Not only did he not have the manners to ask but he had the audacity to call the rest of his crew of 4 to 5 people over. I was snapped out of deep thought by his deep French accent telling his group “it’s o.k., come over”. With that my chair was bumped as they tried to squeeze by me. “Excuse me, but this space s RESERVED” I said. “I’m sorry, this is out first time in America and we wanted to get a photo of the White House. We’re from France” He said, as if that was any excuse. I told them to take their pictures but then they needed to move on. After all, the space ONLY holds 4 people comfortably. After about 40 minutes of enjoying the cool night air, it got down right cold. I told the server I was moving downstairs to the Living Room. Nisha met me as I was moving downstairs. We found a table, I finished my drink and we were on the move again. Where to next she said? Why the Twilight Rooftop Party @ Donovan House of course.

We arrived at an entirely too chilly rooftop party, chatted with some industry friends then moved down to the sushi restaurant, Zentan, for dinner and to continuing partying. After diner it was time to hit to what I thought should be an OVAH party. My boi Paul Wharton’s Birthday Celebration at Park at 14th.

So we arrive at Park about 11:30, signed our lives away for the few reality shows that were filming, The Real House Wives of DC was one, then fleeced through the crowed to the bar. After ordering a drink and making small talk with some of my readers, Facebook/Twitter friends, industry folks and Nisha fans, it was time to locate the party boi of the evening. I was told he was on the second floor so Nisha and I made out way to the elevator. Only once we got on the elevator czar told us that they were not letting anyone on the second floor for the moment. Excuse me, I’m on the list and I’m here to party with my friend for his birthday. Sorry he said, I don’t make the rules. Now, if you know me or follow the magazine or blogs, you know I don’t necessarily like the Park or Love for that matter. The I only reasons I show up at the places is either because I was personally invited or if there is a charity event that I was there to support. I don’t go to the Park to “hang out”. I wanted to find Paul, say happy birthday and bounce to my next destination. Long story short, that party was poorly executed and a complete and disastrous waste of time. Had it not been for me running in to my FAB ASS crew that party would have been an even larger waste of time.

Paul: I’m sure this was not your fault, from what I gathered the producers of the reality shows had something to do with it. However, if you are going to have a birthday celebration and invite your friends, it’s probably a great idea to show your face at some point in the evening. I, like a lot of the folks I spoke with that evening, don’t hang out at Park, we came there for one purpose, to help you celebrate your birthday.

That didn’t happen; I was there for about an hour and never saw Paul's face. I emailed his assistant and informed her that I was at the party but couldn’t get to him…to no avail. After a little over a hour, I was completely over it; time for my next destination. We fleeced past the camera crews and hit it to Daryl Wilson’s Mandingo Tuesday at the Legend Nightclub.

I was a little hesitant when it was suggested at Paul’s party but I figured what the hell, you can’t go wrong with strippers. Walking up to the door and being patted down, I asked myself, do I really want to do this. Then I got in, Daryl waved me in and I hit the bar. Before I knew it I was shaking my ass uncontrollably. The party took me back to the days of the Edge/Wet when I was 23-24. A day when I can let my hair down and no one would look at me twice or any differently. A day when I was just another face in the crowd (if there was ever such a thing…LOL). I had the best time. Daryl, I have to say, you did your thing on Tuesday. The party was HOT, the entertainers were FINE, the vibe was SEXY, the music was INTOXICATING and the libations…let me just say WHOA! If you guys have been thinking about checking out Darryl’s new Tuesday night party but wasn’t sure, let me give you some great advice...JUST DO IT!!!

After the Mandingo Tuesday party, it was time to hit to the best time of the night…The After Party. I somehow talked one of the entertainers in to coming to the after party to perform for one of my boi’s birthday, whom I missed his party last weekend. Well, performed is was this entertainer did. He had the after party going all night. After more libations, shit talking, a fight and more libations, it was time for me to call it a night. How do I get myself in to these situations? I had a BLAST on Tuesday. See you out in DC’s nightlife.

The Weekend Wrap-Up…10/13/2009

THURSDAY 10/8/2009
Thursday was an early start at the American Diabetes Association Benefit Event at the Newseum Residences Club House, Terrace and Rooftop. The event was a hit, the people were absolutely fabulous and the libations were flowing. Thanks to my boi A. Dennis Baxter for the invite. Even though I normally book events weeks in advance, I was happy that I could attend the event for a great cause with only a week notice. After some great networking conversation & libations it was time to move the party to the rooftop. My gal NISHA arrived shortly after and after a few photo ops I felt the need to SLAY A RUNWAY. With no runway in site what’s a DIVO to do but to make one. With that in mind and the DJ spinning an OVAH beat, I hopped up on the built-in benches that bordered the rooftop and proceed to SLAY. After a few more libations, it was time for the next destination.

We went down to Wolfgang Puck’s latest DC restaurant The Source. Check out DC’s MOST FABULOUS Magazine’s review at http://www.dcsmostfabulous.com/apps/auth/login?why=pw&wp=1&next=WEBPROTECT-diningthesource.htm when they first opened. After a martini for me and dinner for Nisha it was time to more move again.

Nisha & I fleeced over to the Rooftop Party at Donovan House Hotel. After great conversation with new friends and we were ready to hit it again.
We arrived at K5 Ent’s PLAY Thursdays @ EFN Lounge and the house was packed. The music was on point and the libations were..left just say I lost count after 3. Somehow, I lost complete track of time. It seemed that no sooner had we walked in, it was time to go. I chalked that up to having one ole good time. After Play Thursdays it was time for the normal nightly finally, an after party. After great convo with some news friends and a night cap, I was time to turn in.

FRIDAY
Recuperation Day…. A very long night,

SATURDAY
Saturday was a lounging day until the evening. I am not sure how I got pulled in to this Girls Night In Party but I had no plans on attending. My plan for the evening was to attend Landan Burrell’s (from K5 Ent.) Bday Party and then hit the REVIVE Party at EFN Lounge. Let’s just say I never made it to either. After getting dressed and talking with the “Toy Girl” I knew that party was gonna be hot. I told myself “we’ll I can stay for a second and then leave about 11ish to at least make to one of my events”. The ladies started pulling in and then the Stripper Pole Instructor arrived. Once the stripper pole was installed I knew I wasn’t going anywhere. I ended up staying up until about 5 AM in the morning having way too many libations. I'm blaming that night on S. Nicole...

SUNDAY
Sunday was champagne mimosas are soon as I woke up. I sat around all day recapping the pervious evening’s festivities. A great time was had by everyone. Sunday night was an early cocktail party then I hit the hip hop party at EFN Lounge. I had a GREAT time and EFN. The party is really taking off there. One of my highlights of the evening was hanging out with my gal Lady Toni, whom I haven’t seen in what seems like ages. Lady T- You looked AMAZING (as always) great seeing you again. After several long islands and a bottle of champagne it was time for me to make moves. The Prince of DC, Raymond Lee, and I fleeced to a private after party for more libations. As we left the after party the question kept resounding in my mind…how do I do it? Ah what I night. See you out in DC’s nightlife.

NISHA, the "O", PDT & a Min-Ball???

So last night…. Mmm, mmm, mmmm (shaking my head)…. LAST NIGHT WAS A DAZE SO BARE WITH ME!!! NISHA - The Metamorphosis Ablum

I started out hosting a NISHA – The Metamorphosis Album Release listening party at my residence for about 10 NISHA Newbees (folks that has never heard the album). If you guys follow me on Tweeter or Facebook then you should know all about this DIVA NISHA. Her sound is a mix of alternative neo soul and pop. I call it a sexy Miami vibe because when I listen to her album I’m transported to a Miami lounge. Her lyric’s yanks at the very soul of a man (or woman). So, we started out just sitting around sipping on libations listening to VHI Soul and then I sprung it on them. OMG…you like the song, I need you to listen to this one… with those words I retreated the another room and returned with NISHA’s press packet and her CD. After another libation was had by everyone we were all transported to an entirely different place. The album was played in its entirety for 2 hours straight. Somehow we all forgot about the problems and stress of today. I knew we were in the zone when a friend, whom recently lost her job and didn’t know how she was going to pay her mortgage, said “…at this moment here, I don’t have a care in the world. I FEEL FABULOUS!!!” If you have not heard NISHA’s album I implore you to treat yourself. Check her out and purchase the album at http://www.allnisha.com/ and www.myspace.com/nishabutterfly.
Me & my gal pal NISHA

After DIVA time, I fleece over to a buddy’s house for dinner (Chinese – orange chicken…my favorite) and great conversation. Thanks Kevin, you have truly redeemed my faith that MAN is innately good.

Then it was time to hit DC’s nightlife. First stop… The TRAP for a FIRCE libation. I met up with my bois Marcus & Will, threw back a few then we headed over to the “O” to get loose. O.K…so if you follow me on Twitter (dcsmostfabulous) then you got the most random tweet last night. Kim’s (from Real House Wives of ATL) Don’t be Tardy for the Party sounds OVAH blasting in a club. I got my EVER-LASTING-LIFE. I have to thank my boi Calvin who continually serves me with “Oh Howard, your cool” as soon as I grace the front door…no pay, no line for me..LOL. I do get it Calvin, it IS all about the service. LUV YOU. After too many cocktails to count, it was time to fleece to the next destination. P.D.T @ VIP @ Café Citron.

Marcus & I on some random night...LOL

So Marcus and I hit it over to P.D.T (Please Don’t Tell) on Connecticut Ave at about 12:00 AM. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by my boi Mathew (SERVICE is everything there).

Mathew & I @ Cuture for a Cure

Now check this; you all know that I normally don’t stay at a party for more than a hour if I have other events to make it to (I had 2 more clubs to hit up) but last night at P.D.T it was BANANAS!!! After way too much champagne I was STUCK. My girls came through looking absolutely FIERCE, the music was SICKENING and the LIBATIONS..you don’t ever want them…OVAH. I knew I had to make it to the Reflection Wednesdays @ Shadow Room for my boi’s ICanD Productions party but I could not pull myself away. I want to know who the hell that DJ was…I damb near lost my mind and broke my neck at the same time – HE SERVED!!! I knew I was having the best time ever when my girls and I carved out a runway in the middle of the dance floor and proceeded to SLAY THE RUNWAY. Everyone got in on the action and before you knew it, the gals AND the guys were walking for BLOOD. Had the most OVAH conversation with Eric Lund…this is ONE FABULOUS ASS DUDE...stay tune for the collaboration. If you guys have never been to P.D.T. Wednesday you need to have your ass in the house next Wednesday. If you don’t know about the P.D.T concept, Google PDT in New York or check the party out at www.elundevents.com/pdt/. It’s a private swanky sophisticated “Shhh” party. Eric….thanks for the bottle of Champaign. FAB ASS…LOL . After finally getting myself unstuck from PDT it was time for Marcus and I to hit the next destination.

We hit it to Mirrors for a mini-ball fund raiser (or at least that’s why I went). So the story that I got was that this event was for the transgendered women who was life was taken from us in the prime of her life. (check out my statuses…I did a whole thing about it). Admittedly, we arrive about 2:30 -3 am but I actually expected the bar to still be open; not at all. The event was free so I really don’t know how they were raising money. No one ask for a donation and the bar was closed. Maybe we got there too late. I’m not a Ball person and really only do the House of Khan event’s because I think they are one of DC’s MOST FABULOUS House’s.
The House of KHAN

There has not been one time when I called on them for a charity event and they have not delivered...I LIVE!!! Through my research and convo with Mark and Juboo Khan, I was under the impression the Balls didn’t end until 5 or 6 am. Am I incorrect in my assumption? Anyway, it was great to see a PACKED house for such a GREAT CAUSE. Not quite sure what house was responsible for the event but KUDOS…You all did a PHENOMINAL JOB. After the event it was time to hit it home.

Marcus and I hit it back to my residence for a nightcap and somehow dosed off. He woke up this morning and the first thing out of his mouth was “I had the most OVAH dream about that P.D.T Party last night and Mat”…LOL down boi…he’s straight…I LIVE!!! See you out in DC’s Nightlife.

Art of Life Party @ Halo & Twilight Roof Top Party @ Donovan House

Last night was a bit chilly but that didn’t stop DC’s art buffs from hitting the streets. Neither did the Lady Ga Ga or U2 concerts. I started with libations at home, completely disregarding all of the errands I needed to run. The boo boo came over, we ordered out, ate and hit the streets. With my knee-high riding boot and a blazer on I was ready for our first stop.

Howard Cromwell, Artist Barbara Blanco, Marcus

We started at my girl’s, Recording Artist Rachel Penay, weekly Art of Life Event at Halo Lounge. Last night’s featured artist was the phenomenal Barbara Blanco. Blanco works featured mixed digital media, photography prints & multi-dimensional paintings. I had a chance to hang out with Blanco last night and decided to feature her in an upcoming issue of DC’s MOST FABULOUS Magazine (stay tuned). After a few more libations we hit it to our next event of the evening.
We arrived at the Twilight Roof Top Party at Donovan House at about 9:30 PM. Shockingly, it wasn’t too crowded. There was the Lady GaGa and the U2 concerts that night which may have been the reason for the light start off. Another reason for the light turn out could have been that the weather was too chilly for a rooftop soiree. All of these thoughts were put to rest by 10:30ish, when the house started getting packed. I ran in to a dear friend, Mateen Khan, who I haven’t seen in quite some time and hung out with he and friends all evening. If you guys where at Twilight last night then you know my boi, Miles DeNiro, shut it down when he pumped in the house with his Lady Ga Ga inspired outfit after leaving the concert. I LIVED MILES!!! My brother, Quincy Jones & his boo boo came to meet me after he left the special premier screening of Capitalism – An American Love Story at the Uptown Theater. Artist Barbara Blanco also came over to meet up with me after her event at Halo. After some catching up, a bottle of Absolute vodka and a bottle of Vue Cliquot champagne it was time to call it a night. I can’t believe I actually got in before 1 am. Who knew that could happen…LOL. See you out in DC’s nightlife.

STAY FABULOUS!!!

Weeked Wrap-Up 9/21/2009

Weekend Wrap Up.

O.K., so I know I haven’t blogged in a while but if you follow me on Facebook or Twitter then you know why. I’ve been extremely busy producing the America’s Next Top Model Season Premier Fashion Show for MAC Viva Glam as well as our weekly F.I.N-i-To Monday fashion industry party at STIR Lounge. Now that I’ve gotten everything back under control, I hope to continue with blogging on a more regular basis.

So, let’s jump right in to it.

FRIDAY:

Friday was a full social calendar; I started with dinner and libations at LIMA Restaurant & Lounge with a friend Lethan. After devouring the empanadas (one of my favorite plates there) I fleeced over to my second home, Donovan House for the Fashion BS Radio Station Launch Party. Can I just tell you all, it was absolutely fabulous. The party was one of the most flattering events I’ve attended this year. No to toot my own horn but apparently I am making waves in DC’s fashion & style, media, event productions community. I was supper shocked when these executive directors, fashion editors/directors, event producers/managers of these national organizations knew who I was. These industry A-listers approached me and knew what projected I’ve worked on, articles I’ve written and events I’ve produced. I was both floored at very flattered. After making a few rounds and throwing back a few libations, it was time to hit it to my destination. We walked up the street to Halo Lounge for the greatest martinis. After about 2 martinis I was soo over Halo. I made plans to meet my boi Jeff back over at Donovan House. The party got even better when I arrived for the second time. One of my favorite DJ and our resident DJ for our FINITO Monday party, DJ NEEKOLA had the party in full swing. Are more libations, networking & great conversation, we decided to I hit it to another one of my favorite nightlife spots, L2 in Georgetown. L2 is a members-only lounge off the beating path in Gtown. If you don’t know about it; then, you don’t know about it. Because we were hanging with DC nightlife newbies I called L2 to notify them of my arrival with guests. With the words “Not a problem Mr. Cromwell, we’ll put you + 3 guests on the list for this evening. We’re looking forward to seeing you again” the plan was in motion. Before we hit L2 we decided to stop pass Fly Lounge. A two step and a drink and we were back out the door on our way to L2.

L2 is always on a poppin. For some reason the crowd was a little light but the music and libations were not a let down. We finished our drinks and decided to fleece back over to Fly Lounge. After more two-stepping and libations I hit it from Fly Lounge and was on my way to an after party. Music & libations and a few minutes and it was time to call it a night. Oh, what I night…

SATURDAY
Saturday was a quite night…recuperated all day/night.

SUNDAY
Sunday was an early start at EFN Lounge for an early libations and the HIP HOP Sunday Party. Then there was dinner in Dupont Circle and the Trap (Fireplace) to meet friends for early libations. I fleeced over to Eyebar for Sugafree Sundays at about Midnight. The party was HOT as always. The beats were on fire and the drinks were on point. I haven’t been to Sugafree Sundays in about 3 months and boy did we have a FAB time. We fleeced from Eyebar at 1:45 am and I hit to a Bday After Party for a friends Bday. After politics & relationship discussions and a nightcap it was time to call it a night.

MONDAY:
Monday was Episode 2 of our FINITO Monday fashion industry party at STIR Lounge. While the party was better attended than the previous week the pickings were still slim. Thanks everyone for coming out to support us. I made a decision to close the doors at 10:00 PM and fleeced over to Lima for the Latin Monday night party.

We arrived at Lima to meet up with the group from FINITO Mondays and partied. Miss Renee Christine-Hill designer for Renee France Designs tore the dance floor up. After about 2 hours, it was time to hit to our 3rd venue of the evening; Fly Lounge. As we were on our way out, Prince of DC, Raymond Lee came to meet up with me at Lima. We arrived at Fly Lounge at about 12ish then the drama started. Now, you guys know I keep it real so here were go. Raymond, you know you’re my boi but I was left with a potential $500.00 bar tab because you and your guest fleeced out of Fly to go to the bank and never returned.

So here’s the scenario: Some of the party goers from the FINITO Monday party all decided to hit it to Lima then Fly. Raymond text me when we were at Lima inquiring where I was. I told him I was at Lima and he said he would meet me there. When he arrived we were leaving. We all arrived at Fly and Raymond had on sneakers. The cost of admittance is normally $20.00 for males and free for women. Because Raymond had on sneakers he would have had to pay $40.00. I suggested that we all just get a VIP booth and pay $50.00 each since we would most likely spend $30-50 dollars in drinks individually anyway and all the males would have to pay a $20.00 entry fee. That would also alleviate all the males (at least 7 from spending the $20-40 dollar entry free). Everyone agreed and our cocktail waitress was called to escort up to our VIP booth. I handed over my ID and credit card to secure the $500.00 and instructed the server not to charge to card and that we would be paying in cash. Said she understood and asked what we wanted to start off with. I asked everyone and we decided to start off with a bottle of Moet and Vodka. When she went to get the bottles I said I wanted to collect the money before we popped anything open. Then that’s when it happened. Why do I keep putting myself in these situations, I thought? All of a sudden everyone either didn’t want do VIP or had to “got to the ATM to get cash” never returning. To make a long story short ONLY Lenard from K5 Entertainment, Renee & myself who took care of both me and the boo boo’s portion gave any money.
This situation puts be in a bind for several reasons. 1) I go to Fly Lounge to attend this Monday party 2-4 times a month. 2) I party at Fly up to 3 times a week sometimes. 3) I am very good friends with the owner and several of the staff. This situation has robed the promoter of $160.00 dollars on entry fees because everyone agreed to pay the $50.00 to meet the minimum bottle service amount therefore, the males were not charged an entry fee. Hindsight 20/20 I have a question: If no one had any cash on them, how were they going to get in to the venue? I am lucky to never have to pay an entry free for Fly Lounge but when I arrive with male friends, it’s expected that my male guest will pay.

The end result was that those (!Dream Entertainment, Lenny of K5 Ent, Renee, the boo boo and I) who stayed VIP had a FABULOUS TIME. We got the bill paid and rocked out for the rest of the night. Will I ever use my “celebrity”/influence in this kind of situation again? Chances are I DON’T THINK SO. I think everyone understands that we are all not on the same financial level but when you are deceitful for no reason at all, not only are your motives questioned but so is the honesty of your friendship. I have seen the light. See you out in D.C.’s nightlife.

Brother Borzou B-Day @ Capitol Skyline Rool Party for , Rooftop Party @ Donovan House & 2009 White Attire Affair

I started the day off EEEAAARRRLLLYYYYY by no choice of my own. You see, here’s the thing… I went to the bed & breakfast spa, I’ve been bragging about and doing for the past 3 weeks, on Friday night. I called the car service to pick me up @ 7:00 AM from my residence to take me the spa, which they did. The plan was to stay overnight and return home at about 11:00 AM. We’ll…that didn’t go as planned. I get a call at 6:45 AM from the spa staff telling me that my car service was out front. I just knew they called the wrong room. They actually were not. It seems that the car service, which I won’t mention because a friend owns it, made a huge mistake. They had my pick up from home and my pick from the spa both for 7:00. Don’t ask because I don’t understand either. Anyway, I get home about 7:30, take a DISCO NAP and wake up to start me day around 12 noon.

Sista Nikki & Brotha Borzou

The first dilemma…what to wear to my first party? My botha Borzou turned 30 and was having the most OVAH pool party celebration @ the Capotal Skyline Hotel. I knew that I wasn’t getting in the pool and I also knew that I was doing several other events that day and didn’t want to go home to change after the party. So I needed to dress for several occasions. I opted for the Martha’s Vineyard/Hamptons look.

After chatting with my boi and Prince of DC, Raymond Lee,

Prince of DC, Raymond Lee

we planned to meet at the Capitol Skyline Pool Party @ 2:30 PM. I walked in to mischief and mayhem and I knew I was gonna have a ball. Borzou and crew greeted me upon entry and I knew I was home. Fabulous libations, delicious food, ovah beats and DC’s MOST BEATIFUL half naked Persian people were the recipe for disaster.

The sista Nikki & I poolside enjoying libations

Borzou: Yo brother, you have a lot of clothes on for a pool party.
Me: I know, I have a few other events to make it to after this and don’t want to go home to change after.

I was SUPPOSE to be at the Donovan House rooftop party at 3:30 PM. O.K, so here’s the thing…cocktails and the sun are not a good combination. Before I knew it, I was out of my clothes walking runway poolside and shaking my ass like I was at the last party of my life. The party was everything and more…like only the Persians can do. The boo boo came to meet me at the party and I knew I wasn’t going ANYWHERE. At about 5:30 the party was finally wrapping up. Now, I can finally make it to my next destination…LOL.

My @ Donovan House Rooftop Party

The boo boo, Raymond and I fleeced to the Donovan House's Rooftop Party and had the most ovah time. This is the thing…the party was winding down and we still enjoyed ourselves immensely. Raymond and I caught up, we all enjoyed the most over libations then it was time to fleece yet again. The next event; Al Sura’s Tenth Annual White Attire Affair (WAA). But first I needed to hit it home for a quick change.

Marcus & I @ The White Attire Affair-2009

So I arrived at Al Sura's 10th Annual White Attire Affair at 9:30 PM, completely missing the VIP reception…Damn!!! I walk to the registration table and was asked by Al Sura’s Diva, “Where have to been, you missed the VIP reception?” “I know”, I said, “I had a few other events to make it to” [welcome to my life].The party was EVERTHING. The WAA is back in full swing. I saw so many of my friends whom I haven’t seen in a while and they all looked FIERCE. The beats and libations (which is 90% of a party) were on point. Then the downfall of the night happened…The Fashion Show. If you were privy to my point of view, which was front row of the main viewing area, then I am sure you would agree; a fucking disaster! The Models: Gorgeous! The Fashions: FABULOUS! The Production/execution: Some of the worse I’ve seen! This say’s a lot because I’m invited to fashion shows that range for middle school to DC/NY/LA Fashion Weeks. I do at least 6-10 fashion shows a month. This production was some of the most mediocre shit I’ve ever seen. I have one question: Who’s responsible? Whoever they are, they never need to produce another fashion show AGAIN. Better yet get out of fashion all together. When I went up to a staff/coordinator and told him the show as moving way to fast, his excuse: We are pressed for time and need to be out here. Excuse the fuck outta me but who told you asses to wait until the last minute to do a show at a party that ends at 1:00 AM? Note: Designers do fashion show to SHOWCASE their work & press/buyers comes to SEE their work. When one of the 2 doesn’t happen, the show is a complete waste of time. [My apologies for going off on a tangent…I just HATE poorly produced fashion shows]. Anyway, the remainder of the party was FABULOUS. I knew I was having a great time when I lost my phone, made an announcement over the microphone for someone to return it if found and never gave it a second thought. After a fabulous on-the-spot interview with the Listen Up Live Radio Show & too many libations I needed an after party.

The hosts and my girls Jay & Simply Nay from the Listen Up Radio Show & I @ The WAA-2009

My boi of 10+ years Terry, who subsequently lended his penthouse to the WAA fashion show for their management hub was having a phenomenal after party that I couldn’t see not attending. I invited some friends down and once the fashion show’s clothing/staff were out of there we commenced to parting like rock stars for the reminder of the night/morning while over looking the the Washington National Stadium.

Upon exit from the party my boo boo called my phone to find that they had it at the front desk…How OVAH, right? With that, I picked up the phone and fleeced home. A fab day was had at all events. See you out in DC’s nightlife.

Captial B reLaunch @ Marvin, HipHop happy Hour @ Lounge of 3, Rooftop Party @ Donovan House, I Love RocknRoll @ Tattoo, Reflection Weds @ Shadow Room

OMG….. Last night was OOOOOOOOVVVVVVVAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

I had a full social calendar to boot.
I started out with dinner at one of my favorite all time restaurants, Utopia on U Street. They have some of the best seasoned and cooked lamb (my favorite meat) in DC. After din din and libations it was time to hit the Capital B Relaunch Party at Marvin.

My boi Sheldon, manager of Marvin

I pulled in to a PACKED event. My folks, The DUNES LLC, produced this event. Ora, you did a phenomenal job, once again. All of my peeps were in the house. The energy was AMAZING. Sometimes, I have to sit back and wonder how I am so blessed to have the life that I live…really. Oh… and how hot is this… one of my favorite womans wear designers, Aidah, pieces were sprinkled on customers throughout the event.

These fashion fabulous divas were representing the Aidah Collection to the FULLEST. FAB right? After hob nobbing with some of DC’s MOST FABULOUS individuals, libations and some of the best cupcakes in DC from Yours Truly, Cupcakes, it was time to fleece to the next destination.
My gals & 3 of DC's MOST FABULOUS Vixens

My girl and owner of Your Truly Cupcake, Tiffany Rose Goodyear

I hit it down the street to the Lounge of 3’s HipHop Happy Hour. A complete waste of time. The music was way too loud & the downstairs bar it way to small. I felt like someone should have handed me a blunt when I arrived. I walked in, made my way half way to the bar and COULDN’T SEE staying to have a drink. I fleeced! [I found out later that night that I should have at least went up stairs to th second level...go figure]

The view from the TOP - Donovan House

I had to get that feel out of my head so to the Rooftop Party and the Donovan House Hotel I shall go… I arrived and had guest list issues with the door girl/host. I know right..me…LOL. After her searching for RSVP in several different ways I found out I was NOT ON THE LIST. Thankfully, one of the hotel’s managers came to my rescue.

Him: “What’s the problem, what is he not on the list?”
Her: “I don’t see his name.”
Him: “ Darling…no no no…He’s alright. We apologize sir, please follow me”
Her: “OMG sir, I am so sorry”
Me: “I understand, you’re just doing your job. Hopefully we won’t have this issue again.”
With that, the manager escorted me to the rooftop and to the bar. The roof top party was crazy. I met up with my DIVA Miss Niomi and my boi Jeff. We drank, laughed, and enjoyed life for about 2 hours. If you haven’t been, you MUST check out the party at Donovan House. The scene, music & atmosphere are some of the best in the city, hands down. After a few more cocktails and that annoying door girl coming up to me apologizing SEVERALS time that eve (the first time was all that was needed. I understand she wanted to apologize but good lord, it became annoying) I needed to hit it to the next local.

My Diva Naomi

The Capital B – I LOVE ROCK & ROLL After Party @ Tattoo. A bust for me. Must have gotten there way too early! I’m not sure but what the hell is going on on K Street nowadays. Once a place where the party was always hot at any time of the evening, K Street seems to be losing its grander….or maybe it was the venue or maybe I was just way too early (11:30 PM). While I love the venue, music, crowd and atmosphere of Tattoo I didn’t see any of my folks I was there to see so after a social round or two I couldn’t see staying there either… Shadow Room, here I come.

Now, at the Shadow Room, the party was on… I arrived to another OOOOVVVVAAAAHHH event. ICAND Productions has done it AGAIN.

The People: Gorgeous. The Bar: Open. The Beats: Intoxicating. The Party: Bananas!!!! I had one of the best nights of the month at Shadow Room last night, and that says a lot. First of all, when I went to the bar for champagne and pull my credit cards out, the bartender tells me that “it’s open bar until 12 am.” I said “when did you guys start that?” He says, “It’s always been going on, you just never show up until about 12:30 -1.” NOTE TO SELF: Get to the Shadow Room before 12 if ever I am low on coins…OPEN BAR.. I’m Lovin it...LOL!

DeeJay India serves the ones & twos...OVAH!!!

DeeJay India made me lose my mind. I got so much life from her last night. I thought she was gonna put me in cardiac arrest. I LIVED!!!

My gansta stance with my boi Allen..LOL

After way too many glasses of champagne, again, it was time for the after party. Very cute, chill and sexy. I got in around 6:30ish…I think. Oh what I night. See you out in DC’s nightlife.
